Green Power:

On November 29, 2000 Mississippi River Power Corp. received its Environmental Choice Program license, thereby classifying all power generated at its generating station (53 Main St. West, Almonte Ward of Mississippi Mills), as green power.

As a renewable resource, hydropower has long been a reliable source of electricity generation for Canadians. With no storage capacity whatsoever, MRPC's Generating Station is a true "run-of-the-river" station. These stations are especially friendly to our environment, as they not only use a clean, renewable resource to generate power, but they also avoid major disruptions to local aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems because water is not being stored (or backed up).

If you are interested in learning more about the green power generated by Mississippi River Power Corp., call us at (613)256-2403 or send us an email mrpc@mississippiriverpower.com.
